Dr. Marios Giannakis, a translational researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, is seeking a highly motivated, exceptional postdoctoral fellow to join his laboratory and independently lead projects towards discovering new therapeutic vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer. The successful candidate will conceive and design well-controlled biological experiments, optimize assays like genomic editing working with preclinical models such as organoids, and actively interact with a rich community of scientists to advance the understanding of colorectal cancer pathogenesis and treatment. This individual will have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge technologies, some of the world???s most comprehensive biomedical datasets and insights from the latest clinical trials in gastrointestinal malignancies to tackle pressing questions in cancer biology.

Conceive and design well-controlled biological experiments
Conduct genetic, molecular biology and biochemical experiments, optimize and develop novel assays as needed
Analyze resulting data and integrate findings with published and unpublished available biomedical datasets
Write manuscripts, present and publish impactful research
Learn from, teach and collaborate with others towards expanding the group???s knowledge and productivity
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
PhD or equivalent degree in life sciences, including molecular biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry or related disciplines
Publications (first author or first co-author) in high impact biology journals
Knowledge of a wide-range of experimental techniques, ability to optimize assays
Motivation to apply for postdoctoral grants and secure additional funding
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are essential.
PhD equivalent degree in life sciences, including molecular biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry or related disciplines
