Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Temporary Research Assistant for the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Temporary Research Assistant will provide technical assistance in cell biological, molecular and biochemical experiments and data analysis, lab organization and maintenance. Assist with the composition and review of written scientific texts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assist in laboratory research activities, which include fundamental experimental tasks and procedures, data acquisition and processing, review and referencing of written scientific texts, lab organization and maintenance.
Specific research activities include:
Preparation of buffers Electrophoresis Immunoprotein detection Protein purification
PCR analysis of DNA and RNA Microscopy Tissue culture Computational applications
Assist in preparing scientific manuscripts and grants. Keep up with the current literature in the lab's field of interest.
Maintains lab experimental records, databases, and files as hard copies and computer files.
