The Department of Microbiology and Immunology seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking a creative and visionary investigator to lead a cutting-edge laboratory-based and/or computational research program in fundamental immunology. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in ImmunoX, and UCSF graduate programs including but not limited to the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Biological and Medical Informatics (BMI) programs. The Bakar ImmunoX Initiative promotes community, collaboration and excellence in research and education UCSF-wide. Research space will be at the Parnassus Campus.

Candidates must hold a PhD and/or M.D. degree at time of appointment (CV must list pending degree), and to have demonstrated significant potential in their field. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program and to excel at teaching and mentorship.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,900-$140,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
