Dr. Uttiya Basu, in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, is searching for a Staff Associate III interested in studying the mechanism of DNA and RNA diversity in context of various biological systems (including developing lymphocytes, neuronal cells and germ cells) and diseases. The laboratory is equipped with cutting edge technologies including DNA/RNA high-throughput sequencing technology, single molecule resolution 3D-STORM imaging and most up to date FACS.
Responsibilities include performing experiments to study the biochemical properties and biology of a macromolecular complex that processes coding and noncoding RNAs in mammalian cells. The ideal candidate will have an MD or Ph.D. in biological sciences with experience in carrying out biochemical, genomics and genetic experiments in cell lines and mouse models. The biology of the RNA processing complex and associated noncoding RNAs is important in immune cells and neuronal cells, and it is ideal that the candidate has experience and interest in some aspects of immune or neural cell biology
MD or Ph.D. in biological sciences with experience in carrying out biochemical, genomics and genetic experiments in cell lines and mouse models
Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 4-6 years of experience
