Duties: 1) Conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PI, postdocs, students, and trainees in the lab on areas of immunology, virology, molecular data analysis, cell culturing and other miscellaneous problems related to bee disease epidemiology. 2) Collect and organize data for research activities. 3) Collaborate with PI in the consortium (BARD and LCCMR) in the generation and testing of research hypotheses and data analysis, writing of papers, grants, and reports, and preparation of presentations and lectures 4) Attend, participate, or present at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate and undergraduate lectures, and conferences as needed 5) Perform miscellaneous laboratory and office duties as assigned by Drs. Schroeder or Spivak including, but not limited to, ordering supplies and reagents and help the PIs in the organization and coordination of meetings and projects. 6) Maintain frequent communication with other faculty and collaborators, including, if required traveling to destinations to meet with collaborators and collect data.
Required Qualifications: PhD in Biology, Microbiology or related field 3 years experience working in a microbiology/ molecular biology research lab Experience in microbiology, sterile lab techniques Experience maintaining documentation of procedures and experimental data in a logical and organized manner Ability to collaborate respectfully with other members of the laboratory, learn, and to take direction from personnel at all levels
