The Department of Life Sciences, in the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks applications from qualified candidates for a part-time non-tenure track position in biology, specializing in lower-division course work for biology majors and non-majors (e.g. general biology, general zoology, microbiology and genetics), or specialty courses in their area of expertise. The College seeks excellence in instruction. Â
Job Responsibilities:
Teach lower-division lecture courses for science majors
Teach lower-division lecture courses for non-science majors
Teach lower-division laboratory courses for science majors
Teach courses, both lecture and laboratory, in areas of their expertise
Create and maintain a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.
Required Education and Experience: Â
Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous college-level or AP Biology teaching experience .
Experience with a diverse student body.
Must have 18 graduate credit hours in related area
Â
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
Ability to interact with diverse set of students and faculty.
