Assistant Professor - Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health
The Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health and the Department of Pediatrics within the University of Maryland School of Medicine are recruiting for an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track. The candidate should have an interest in malaria, diarrheal diseases, respiratory diseases or other global infectious diseases research and have external funding to support their research activities.
The successful candidate will have experience conducting clinical, translational and/or epidemiological research, evidence of productivity as demonstrated by publication of completed projects and be interested in pursuing a career in scientific research. The Candidate will engage in collaborative research that draws upon the expertise of scientists from the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health, the Department of Pediatrics, Medicine, Epidemiology and Public Health and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, affiliated international sites, and other strategic partnerships.

MD or PhD degree or equivalent
Completed post-doctoral training with a focus on infectious disease research
Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary and/or multi-cultural research setting
Current research funding
Subspecialty or post-doctoral training in infectious diseases epidemiology, or a strong interest in infectious diseases epidemiology
A publication record in this or a related field
Experience conducting research studies in low resource international settings.
Expertise in study design and implementation
Capacity to coordinate a broad range of research activities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active funded career development award (NIH K award or equivalent) or research project funding
