Position Summary:
Rutgers University, School of Health Professions (SHP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position in the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Medical Imaging Sciences (CLMIS), Clinical Laboratory Sciences Division (CLS). The position is available as early as Spring 2023. The new faculty will be joining the Department and SHP as we continue to expand and build upon our success in the continuum of Clinical Laboratory Science education at the graduate level in the Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (MS-CLS) and Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) programs. Interprofessional education opportunities are fostered within the Department of CLMIS and SHP.
Responsibilities include course development and instruction in online graduate program courses in the areas of molecular diagnostics, clinical chemistry, transfusion medicine, hematology and clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.. The candidate will be expected to advise graduate students, pursue scholarly activities, and perform service to the university, school, and professional community.
Minimum Education and Experience:
The successful candidate must holda doctoral degree and ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical laboratory science including teaching and professional service. Current professional U.S. certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP)CM or equivalent is preferred. Individuals with a medical degree with experience in clinical pathology/laboratory medicine, or doctoral prepared candidates (PhD., ScD, EdD) with experience and/or specialty certification in a clinical laboratory science discipline will be considered. Candidates enrolled in a doctoral program who will be ABD status at the time of appointment and have clinical laboratory science work experience will be considered.
