Position Summary:
Rutgers University, School of Health Professions (SHP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position in the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Medical Imaging Sciences (CLMIS), Clinical Laboratory Sciences Division (CLS). The position is available as early as Spring 2023. The new faculty will be joining the Department and SHP as we continue to expand and build upon our success in the continuum of Clinical Laboratory Science education at the undergraduate level in the NAACLS accredited Baccalaureate Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program.
Responsibilities include on campus teaching in undergraduate clinical microbiology with student laboratory teaching responsibilities in hematology, blood bank, serology, body fluids and phlebotomy. The candidate may be responsible for some clinical coordination and clinical site visits. The candidate will also be expected to advise undergraduate students in Independent Study, attend Career Fairs and Recruitment Events, and be involved in Student Forum activities. In addition, the candidate will pursue scholarly activities and service to the university, school, and professional community.
Minimum Education and Experience:
The successful candidate should holda doctoral degree and ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience in medical laboratory science education. However, consideration will be given to applicants with a master's degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in medical laboratory science education. Please note completion of a doctoral degree will be required to maintain the faculty appointment. Current professional U.S. certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP)CM is required.
