Research Teaching Specialist IV, Research Technician
Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV (RTS IV) for the Center for Emerging and Re-Emerging Pathogens within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the RTS IV conducts research on methods to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis and drug resistance in this organism.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Cultures and quantitates pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria including M. Tuberculosis, and select agents requiring work in BSL3 facilities including drug resistant strains.Conducts validation studies of molecular detection and drug resistance assays.
