Mills College at Northeastern University is seeking part-time faculty to teach a variety of courses at the Oakland campus in the Spring 2023 semester. Through its research, teaching, and engagement missions, the college collaborates across the university, the Northeastern network, and partners around the globe. Responsibilities:
The Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Literature and Languages, Public Policy and Political Science, Social and Historical Studies, Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Dance and Theater Studies are seeking applicants to teach courses in a number of courses, including:
Foundations of Microbiology (Biology)
Rhetoric of Law (English, Pollical Science)
Global Climate Change (Environmental Science)
Geographic Information Systems (Environmental Science)
Human Nutrition (Health Science)
Environmental Ethics (Philosophy)
Foundations of Biostatistics (Public Health)
Healthcare Policy and Administration (Public Health)
Principles of Human Learning (Psychology)
Social Psychology (Psychology)
Race and Ethnic Relations (Sociology)
Dramaturgical Inquiry (Theater)
Topics in Dance (Theater)
Responsibilities include: developing a syllabus, assignments, assessments and course schedule to meet required learning outcomes; developing and delivering course content using the Mills College at Northeastern teaching and learning platforms and facilities; holding appropriate office hours; engaging with departmental and university part-time faculty obligations as required.
The courses will be taught in person on the Mills College at Northeastern campus in Oakland, California.
Qualifications:
M.A. required, Ph.D. or A.B.D. preferred. Preference will be given to persons experienced in teaching large and diverse groups of students.
