The Acharyya Lab at the Institute for Cancer Genetics is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Technician B. The laboratory performs cancer research and the incumbent will perform basic molecular biology and keep records of experimental results.
DNA and RNA preparation,
PCR, Recombinant DNA Cloning,
Gel Electrophoresis, Protein Analysis
Western Blots, Tissue Culture;
Incumbent will keep clear records of experimental results.
Additional responsibilities pertain to laboratory safety, organizing supplies, research reagents, equipment maintenance, monitoring and ordering lab supplies and other related duties as required.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Computer skills a must (word/excel).
Good interpersonal communications skills are required.
Experience in a research laboratory preferred.
Experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
0 - 6 months of experience in a research laboratory.
It may be necessary to work late on occasions to complete experiments.
