Position Summary

The Acharyya Lab at the Institute for Cancer Genetics is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Technician B. The laboratory performs cancer research and the incumbent will perform basic molecular biology and keep records of experimental results.

Responsibilities

• DNA and RNA preparation,
• PCR, Recombinant DNA Cloning,
• Gel Electrophoresis, Protein Analysis 
• Western Blots, Tissue Culture;
• Incumbent will keep clear records of experimental results.
• Additional responsibilities pertain to laboratory safety, organizing supplies, research reagents, equipment maintenance, monitoring and ordering lab supplies and other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
• Computer skills a must (word/excel).
• Good interpersonal communications skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a research laboratory preferred.
• Experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
• 0 - 6 months of experience in a research laboratory.

Other Requirements

• It may be necessary to work late on occasions to complete experiments.
