Donor Alliance is hiring a Tissue Recovery Coordinator in Denver! The Tissue Recovery Coordinator (TRC) is responsible for several aspects within the non-clinical and clinical recovery process within the guidelines of Donor Alliance. The TRC works both independently and as a team member to facilitate the process as a surgical team member and receiving and preparing equipment and supplies for tissue donation. These activities are essential to the fulfillment of the company mission.
Schedule:
Nights - 7p to 7a, Sun - Tue, every other Sat.
Nights - 7p to 7a, Wed - Fri, every other Sat.
Day-To-Day
Participate in the donor recoveries and other case-related activities occurring within the scheduled shift worked; working a minimum of 4-5 recoveries per month in order to train, evaluate, and maintain recovery standards.
Perform all technical responsibilities of the donor recovery process to further Donor Alliance’s recovery program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
participate as a surgical team member according to standard protocol
circulate, document, package, perform room setup and cleanup according to standard protocol
collect all microbiological and serologic samples for quality control
assist in preparing instrumentation and material management for donor recovery to include sterilization and creating lot/load catalogs for specific cases
assist in delivering medical supplies and tissue samples as requested
Organize and complete the donor records and charts in a timely manner so that tissue may be released for transplantation.
Perform and/or supervise the collection, packaging, and transportation of all bone, tissue, serological samples, and microbiological samples necessary for the screening and processing of bone and tissue according to Donor Alliance and AATB guidelines. All samples and tissues must be collected in a manner which meets OSHA guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
Maintain and advance technical skills through professional education and training thereby increasing the effectiveness of the recovery and education teams.
Collect and review available medical records and files as needed from various sources including hospitals, coroner’s offices and funeral homes to complete the record of recovery.
Train and evaluate new and existing staff assigned to recovery duties in order to develop and maintain effective recovery teams. Responsibilities include:
assist in the onboarding process and initial training of all Tissue Recovery Technicians (TRTs) and newly hired TRCs,
review and participate in on-going training for recovery technicians and coordinators as a result of new or modified SOPs,
develop training materials for TRCs and TRTs,
document and provide management with any performance issues relative to recovery technicians and/or coordinators, and
provide information to managers on performance for appraisal, relative to TRC/TRT’s recovery skills.
The TRC is expected to maintain confidentiality of all donor/recipient information.
May perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a life science, certification in surgical technology/medical/ paramedical professional is preferred to perform all technical functions of the position and/or equivalent work related experience.
Prior experience with aseptic technique and/or hospital surgical protocol strongly preferred to perform various technical functions.
Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not limited to, Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook – Intermediate to Advanced skills) required.
Supervisory or experience in a leadership role is preferred in order to effectively coordinate, train, and evaluate recovery team members
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation:
$25.70-28.92/hour, experience and education considered in offer
Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
$2.68 shift differential, any hours worked between 7p-7a
Additional Compensation:
