Applicants are invited to apply for a Researcher 1 position in the Driscoll Laboratory. The Driscoll lab investigates how the interplay between cell morphology, dynamics, and intracellular signaling governs cell function. Our lab is interdisciplinary, and researchers will use techniques ranging from high-resolution light-sheet microscopy and computational analysis to state-of-the- art molecular biology. Researchers will have the opportunity to present and publish the outcome of their work. We are a new laboratory, and in joining you will be able to help shape the culture and future of the lab.
60% Research • Assist with experiments to aid in the solution of a research problem. These investigations will likely include tissue culture work and fluorescence microscopy, and may include high-resolution light-sheet microscopy with the lab’s custom-built light-sheet microscope and genetic engineering of cell lines. • Support to employ a wide variety of experimental techniques to conduct laboratory experiments and rapidly acquire knowledge of new methods as needed to complete projects • Remain current on technological and scientific developments in the field and their potential uses in the lab • Review literature as suggested by the investigation. Select relevant facts, techniques and procedures from the literature. Summarizes the findings from the literature.
40% Lab Support • Assist with establishing the laboratory, especially by setting up tissue culture facilities and procedures
