This opportunity is Full-Time- Night Shift 11 pm to 7:30 am and possible Weekend Coverage
Sign-on-bonus of $5k must meet requirements to be considered.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
In this role, you will:
Oversee and ensure Federal, State, CAP, HIPAA, CLIA, and Company policy compliance for functions occurring in the Technical Department.
Participate in College of American Pathologists (CAP) Survey Reviews, Assessments, and Inspections.
Ensure manufacturer's instructions are followed precisely for each assay/method to ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
Participate in the selection of new methods/equipment. May be required to travel to vendor location or trade shows, as necessary.
Prepare or direct preparation of various qualitative and quantitative reports and records.
Perform correlation of methods and equipment in the presence of multiple available methods and equipment for laboratory test(s).
Modify and develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), as necessary.
Monitor, implement, and oversee the storage of hazardous materials and the laboratory safety program.
Contribute to the resolution of conflicts and act as an intermediary between disgruntled parties.
Assist with problem solving and the communication of resolution(s) to the Client Services Department and/or clients, as necessary.
Direct quality and quantity of work produced and evaluate laboratory procedures to optimize proficiency, efficiency, and accuracy.
Schedule all subordinate staff and monitor shift productivity. Maintain accurate timekeeping and department scheduling.
Carry out supervisory functions for all staff members including, but not limited to, employee recognition, coaching, interviewing, and discipline.
Collaborate with the CLS team to promote Medical Leadership.
Report any workplace accidents or injuries to Safety Officer, Human Resources, or Laboratory Manager immediately.
Ensure company policies, procedures, and best practices are adhered to by subordinate employees.
Conduct the timely investigation and resolution of all Technical errors and workplace incidents.
Review with and hold all subordinate employees accountable for the criteria set within their job description.
Develop goals and plans for Technical team to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Deliver the timely completion of departmental performance appraisals for each quarter, month, or other established guideline.
Complete and ensure subordinate employees complete MediaLab training modules when assigned by Safety Officer or Human Resources.
Participate in and support all Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives set out for the laboratory, as necessary.
Participate in continuing education on updates made to State, Federal, and CAP regulations, as necessary.
In addition to typical work schedule, may be scheduled to work weekends, work split shifts, overtime, holidays, and attend mandatory company meetings, as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science (Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and Biology) or related life science
Requires valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License; A.S.C.P. or other applicable certification is desirable, but not required. Continuing education as dictated by governmental agencies required for license validity.
Experience in the Clinical Laboratory as a California Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) ! Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
Frequent, prolonged standing/sitting/walking
Must be able to see, hear, and respond adequately
Must be able to appropriately identify colors as necessary for position requirements ' Extensive computer and/or microscopic work r Moderate use of telephone and fax o Occasional travel required to interact with Division personnel and/or attend meetings,
Educational training.
3 years of Laboratory Management experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Experienced in Hematology; blood bank
Urinalysis
Coagulation testing
Travel:
Meet applicable company insurance guidelines and release Department of Motor Vehicles driving records if required to drive or operate a company vehicle in the performance of their duties. Must comply with company driving policies and procedures.
Participate in occasional travel to interact with Division personnel, attend meetings, or participate in educational training, as needed.
Physical Demands:
Have the ability to require lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds.
Be able to reach, stoop/bend, kneel/crouch, push/pull, and walk.
Engage in moderate to frequent computer work.
Engage in moderate to frequent use of telephone and fax.
Base Pay: $35.19 to $55.14 hourly D.O.E.
