Collectively, the faculty in the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology (MBM) address problems related to the genetics and molecular functions of microorganisms that are relevant to infection and health world-wide. Just as importantly, we strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our faculty, students, postdoctoral trainees, and staff. 

This position sits in the Linden Hu Lab, working at the forefront of discovery research. Hu lab uncovers novel autoantibodies in Borrelia-infected individuals, possibly paving the way for better diagnosis of Lyme Disease. Learn more about Dr. Hu's research.

The Scientist III in the Linden Hu Lab works in independently, but in close consultation and in cooperation with Senior Scientists, to design and perform experiments.   

Responsibilities include:

• Develops, adapts, and implements new research techniques and protocols
• Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data
• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures
• Collaborates on current/future grants through participation in grant proposals, submissions, publications and presentations
• Participates in contributing data to publications and presentations as co-author
• Partakes in teaching, research, and mentoring including providing research guidance to graduate students or postdoctoral scholars

Basic Requirements:

• PhD is required and at least one year of postdoctoral training and demonstrated scholarly activity including significant contributions to peer-reviewed literature and original research contributions to peer-reviewed journals
