The post-doctoral scholar will study the ecology, transmission, and evolution of RNA viruses at the human-animal interface through collections from wild animal hosts and with collaborating groups working at interfaces with natural populations. The candidate will perform a central role in data acquisition and analysis on multiple projects within an interdisciplinary team of scientists conducting fieldwork, diagnostics, experimental studies, and analyses on emerging pathogens including influenza and SARS-CoV-2. The candidate must possess strong skills in oral and written communication; planning and organization to independently manage data and experimental work; and be highly self-motivated to incorporate innovative techniques.
