Posted: 07-Sep-23 Location: Irvine, California Type: Full-time Salary: Open Internal Number: 4568947  University of California Irvine Specialist Series - Genomics and Molecular Testing The Genomics Research and Technology Hub in the Department of Biological Chemistry welcomes applications for a specialist position for genomics and molecular testing. Depending upon experience and skill set, responsibilities could include quality control for samples, generation of sequencing libraries for analysis of genomes and gene expression in bulk and single cell workflows, as well as applications of spatial transcriptomics, optical mapping and microarray. In addition to conducting tests, the candidate will be responsible for regular calibration and maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment, placing orders to maintain reagent stocks, acting as the laboratory safety officer and depending on experience, development of SOPs. Candidate will be responsible for analysis of molecular test data, sample storage, and communicating results of molecular tests. Basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, genomics, molecular methods and basic statistics is preferred. Candidates are expected to have had at least two years of laboratory experience.
