The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa invites applications for two tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in the broad areas of virology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. These tenure-track or tenured positions include a 12-month appointment, outstanding fringe benefits, competitive start-up package, ample office/laboratory space and access to state-of-the-art core facilities, instrumentation, and BSL3 and animal BSL3 space. The primary appointment of the faculty member will be in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Successful applicants will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program and to actively participate in the teaching and service missions within the Department and the College.
The Department consists of 20 primary and 5 secondary faculty members with robust research funding and three long-standing NIH T32 training grants.
