A postdoctoral researcher position is available immediately to study virus interactions with host factors in Dr. Li Wu's lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. The position is for work on one of current projects: (1) Mechanisms of HIV-1 RNA modification of N 6-methyladenosine in regulating viral replication and latency, or (2) SAMHD1-mediated regulation of HIV-1 innate immunity and viral gene expression.

Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply. Previous postdocs trained in the lab have become independent faculty members at research universities or leading scientists in the biotech industry.
