Duties:
40% - Research: Antiviral testing, assay development, and virology
30% - Preclinical animal studies
25% - Administration
5% - Science Communication: manuscript writing, scientific presentations, and communicating with collaborators

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required qualifications:

• BS in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular biology, immunology or related field or a combination or related education and experience equal to four years.
• A strong academic background is highly preferred.  
• The ability to multitask, learn new tasks, and organize many types of data from multiple projects accurately. 
• The successful applicant should have a deep-seated interest in virology, be an excellent communicator, and have a strong desire to learn about and apply new technologies and data analysis. 
• Biological safety level (BSL) 3 laboratory certification; certification for working with blood-borne pathogens. Both may be acquired upon hire. 

Preferred qualifications:

• Applicant must understand complex concepts of immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and virology.
• Experience with classical virology techniques preferred.
• Experience in animal husbandry preferred. 
• Experience with mammalian cell culture preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and familiarity with programming languages like R and Python are strongly preferred.
