Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant Professor position. The candidate should have a PhD in microbiology, or a related field. The candidate should have extensive experience in areas related to ocular virology, ocular cell biology , metabolomics, as well as immune aspects of HSV-1 infection in several different animal models of corneal disease. Experience should be documented by strong research publications, presentations at international meetings, and substantial contributions to successful federal and/or foundation grant applications. The candidate must be able to independently develop a research program and collaboration with members of the department, and other institutes and departments, and actively participate in one or more graduate programs.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
