Assistant Professor Tenure-Track Faculty Position – Molecular Genetics
The Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Maryland College Park invites applications at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) from outstanding early-career scientists. The Department is particularly interested in candidates investigating molecular, genetic, or cellular mechanisms integral for adaptation to biotic and abiotic environmental stresses, particularly those relevant to a changing climate, using plants as a model system and applying state-of-the-art genetic and genomic approaches.

The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain a cutting-edge, externally-funded research program that synergizes with existing core groups in the department, including plant biology, algae evolution, genomics and gene regulation, RNA structure and function, cell biology, host-pathogen interactions, microbiology and virology. The appointed candidate will also participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the conceptual area of genetics. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in a relevant area, an outstanding publication record commensurate with their experience, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
