Research Scientist
The Research Scientist in the Wesener lab will be responsible for conducting wet-lab research, mentoring and training lab trainees, and independently pursuing and managing research projects that include academic and industrial collaborations (together with the PI). Examples of research tasks to be completed include: the culture of human gut bacteria, isolation of bacterial polysaccharides from cultured microbes, purification of polysaccharides by extraction or chemical manipulation, structural analysis of polysaccharides by methods including mass spectrometry, mass spectrometry data analysis, protein biochemistry, and protein activity/binding assays.
