Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryA Research Technician II position is available in Dr. Doug Chalker's group to carry out research aimed at understanding how cells maintain structural organization. The lab studies a non-pathogenic, cilated protozoan called Tetrahymena and current research focuses on elucidating the role of signaling pathways that control cellular polarity. The research involves performing genetic manipulation of Tetrahymena, engineering Tetrahymena strains that can be used to generate data that test specific hypotheses. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques is highly preferred. Our lab also maintains the national Tetrahymena Stock Center, which stores labor
