The candidate will contribute to projects related to microbial natural product drug discovery and understanding the biological pathways that direct their synthesis. Under guidance from the PI, the candidate may conduct experiments including cultivation of microbial strains, basic molecular biology, or metabolite analysis and isolation. The candidate will also provide timely summaries of results and contribute to general upkeep of the laboratory.
Required: Bachelors degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related field. One year of relevant experience.
Desired: Individuals with a minimum of 6 months working experience in an academic lab or equivalent (not counting classroom experience) engaged in microbiology, biochemistry, or chemistry research. Demonstrated mastery of general laboratory techniques in one more area such as molecular biology, microbiology, or analytical chemistry.
