The candidate will assist with laboratory experiments related to fungal natural product drug discovery and characterization at the direction of their supervisor. Under guidance from the PI, the candidate will assist with experiments including cultivation of microbial strains, basic molecular biology, or metabolite analysis and isolation. The Research Aide will rely upon guidance and training from their supervisor with limited opportunity to exercise their own discretion. The candidate will also provide data entry of timely summaries of results and contribute to maintaining safety and equipment of the laboratory.
Required: High School graduate.
Desired: Bachelors degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related field. Demonstrated mastery of general laboratory techniques in one more area such as molecular biology, microbiology, or analytical chemistry.
