The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of virology, including molecular virology, viral pathogenesis, emerging viral pathogens, and animal models of viral disease.  The position will be part of a State University of New York Empire Innovation Program that seeks to build cross-disciplinary collaborations to advance disease prevention and treatment. Applicants incorporating antiviral drug development or novel therapeutic approaches against viral infections are particularly encouraged to apply.  Successful applicants are expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program
