The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Technician B will provide bench and data analysis support for cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, and functional genomic assays, and assist the lab team with experiments and general research activities.
Responsibilities
Will be responsible for assuring compliance with study protocols, including IACUC and IRB, and laboratory safety.
Will perform routine cellular and molecular assays (e.g., transformation, miniprep, maxiprep, RNA, DNA and protein preparation, cDNA synthesis, qRT-PCR, transfection, packaging of viral vectors, ELISA, Western Blotting, etc.).
Will maintain primary mouse and human cell culture and human induced pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation.
Will utilize microscopic techniques and FACS for characterization/functional assays of cell lines and primary cells.
Will perform histological sectioning, staining, imaging, and quantitative data analysis.
Assist with other lab team efforts, including breeding, genotyping, and preparation of animal models for experiments and surgeries.
Assist with sample preparation of RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, CRIPSR screening, high content imaging, and other functional genomic assays.
Interpreting and presenting data, and participating in manuscript preparation.
Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
Performing other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor???s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, biostatistics, or other biomedical research related fields or equivalent in education training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experiences in a research laboratory
Familiar with cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, and functional genomic techniques, and animal models
Capable of developing skills in experimental design, data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
Other Requirements
Good organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team, as well as independently.
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
Participation in the medical surveillance program
