The PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at St. Luke's University Health Network is a 12-month program under ASHP pre-accreditation status designed to foster professional development of pharmacy residents into highly-qualified infectious diseases clinical pharmacists capable of serving as the healthcare institution's antimicrobial stewardship program leader and drug information expert. This program consists nine required rotations including antimicrobial stewardship I and II, infectious diseases teaching service I and II, pediatric infectious diseases, medical intensive care unit, microbiology, infection prevention, and pharmacy orientation. There are additional opportunities for two five-week elective learning experiences consisting of emergency medicine, ambulatory ID clinic, surgical/trauma intensive care unit, and/or repeat of a required rotation. Longitudinal learning experiences consist of HIV clinic, research project, medication/diagnostic use evaluation, teaching and learning, and ongoing longitudinal antimicrobial stewardship responsibilities. Learning experiences are primarily located at St. Luke's University Hospital located in Bethlehem, PA. Residents will also be expected to develop and present several educational sessions to various audiences during the residency year, including an APCE-accredited CE presentation to pharmacists from the Mideastern Pennsylvania Society of Hospital Pharmacists, a medical ground rounds presentation on antimicrobial stewardship to physicians and providers, a literature-based presentation to SLUHN staff pharmacists, and a journal club presentation to the St. Luke's Infectious Diseases Associates. The resident will play a crucial role in the network's Antimicrobial Stewardship Task Force and will have the opportunity to attend other recurring network meetings pertaining to pharmacy and infectious diseases.
There is one PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency position available through the match for 2025-2026. Eligible candidates must complete an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy residency, be authorized to work in the United States, and be licensed to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania within 90 days of residency start date.

The pharmacy department at St. Luke's University Hospital (Bethlehem) Campus provides 24 hour per day pharmacist coverage to all patients. The Department utilizes multiple technologies, including a fully integrated electronic health record and robust automation, to provide this care. The pharmacy department is involved in numerous multidisciplinary committees and teams throughout the Network.
