Postdoctoral Research Associate - Kuang Lab
The Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to study epigenetic mechanisms of host-microbial interactions in the laboratory of Dr. Zheng Kuang (https://labs.bio.cmu.edu/kuang).Trillions of different microorganisms reside in our gut, known as the gut microbiota. The goal of our research is to identify the molecular basis of interactions between the microbiota and the circadian rhythms in mammalian metabolism and immunity. We use various techniques including genomics, gnotobiotics, laser capture microscopy and mouse genetics to study the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms by which the gut microbiota impacts host circadian rhythms. We are currently focused on understanding how these signals integrate in the gut
