Antimicrobial Stewardship will be a considerable focus of the residency. The resident will be actively involved in designing and implementing antimicrobial stewardship initiatives for Franciscan Health Indianapolis as well as the ministry antimicrobial stewardship program, which consists of 12 hospitals in Franciscan Health.
The resident will serve an integral role on the Microbiology Rapid Diagnostic Testing clinical response team for blood culture monitoring.
The resident will serve as an integral role of the Pharmacy OPAT team
There are many opportunities to assist in precepting PGY1s and Students
The resident will participate in a variety of committees including Infection Prevention, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, and Corporate Antimicrobial Stewardship.
Franciscan Health is a 12-hospital non-profit health system with facilities throughout central and northern Indiana, as well as one in Olympia Fields, IL. Franciscan Health Indianapolis is the largest facility with close to 500 beds serving the Central Indiana area in medical, surgical, critical care, oncology, and bone marrow transplant needs. Representatives from this program will be located in the Tuesday 1p-4p session at both 6209.
