Position Summary:
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, SUNY at Buffalo, is seeking a faculty member to join at the Lecturer rank. The Lecturer will teach our undergraduate population fundamental and relevant coursework. They will have the ability to independently develop lectures and materials while also being able to seek guidance from our highly specialized faculty. We are seeking an individual who has vision and enthusiasm for teaching.
Incumbent will be responsible for:
Creating and presenting lectures, labs, and associated teaching materials (exam questions, handouts, etc.) for Fall, Spring, and Summer Session II undergraduate courses
Proctoring exams
Creating and updating procedures for laboratory courses
Handling and maintaining lab chemicals, biologic materials, and supplies
Overseeing student workers and staff
Grading and inputting grades into HUB
Analyzing course evaluations to facilitate improvements to courses
Implementing course improvement recommendations
Assisting in new course development
Serving as liaison to relevant University offices, such as the Office of Accessibility Resources to ensure appropriate protocols are followed
Staying up-to-date in the field, attending departmental seminars and thesis defenses, and attending training as necessary
