Description:
Hofstra University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an adjunct faculty position (adjunct instructor or adjunct assistant/associate/full professor) in the Department of Biology to teach introductory biology lab courses and potentially upper-level lecture courses in ecology and evolution, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, physiology, and neurobiology.
The faculty member is encouraged to be available for at least one to two hours of office hours per week and attend weekly lab instructors' meetings. Teaching load is typically one or two courses per semester; maximum enrollment for a lab section is approximately 20 students.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in biology or closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior university teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Both a PhD and teaching experience is required for appointment at the Adjunct Assistant Professor or greater level.
