Research Technician will work in Bioengineering Laboratory in the Dept. of Chemical, Biological and Bioengineering. Person must be familiar with biosafety level-2 (BSL-2) laboratory safety rules and ensure effective implementation at all times. He/She will assist management in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and related research materials.
The Research Technician (RT) will work in the NERVE Center in the Dept. of Chemical, Biological and Bioengineering. The RT will provide support for and report to the Principal Investigator in all aspects of research activities within the laboratory. This person will assist management with daily lab activities. RT will 1) conduct laboratory experiments and assist in the development of new protocols, 2) perform molecular biology, cell culture, microscopy, biochemical assays, and imaging techniques, 3) operate and maintain laboratory equipment, 4) supervise students working in the laboratories, and 5) order and organize laboratory supplies, maintain inventory, and ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment. Qualifications: 1) Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field, 2) Technical Skills: Proficiency in molecular/cellular biology techniques, cell culture, and imaging techniques, 3) Computational Skills: Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, MATLAB, or Python is a plus and 5) Soft Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Minimum: B.S. bioengineering, material science, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field; MS preferred.
Preferred: Candidate should be able to perform the following: cell/tissue culture, immunocyto/histo-chemistry, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
